This project documented the complete transformation of a large outdoor wooden structure through a detailed exterior deck refinishing process. Initially, the structure was composed of bare, weathered timber with signs of wear on the floorboards, railings, and stairs. Furthermore, the refinishing process aimed to improve overall durability while providing a modern aesthetic to the home’s exterior. Consequently, our work focused on extensive preparation of the wood surfaces followed by the application of a durable coating. Specifically, a solid grey stain was applied to the deck floor and stair treads to create a highly resilient walking surface. In contrast, the main railings, balusters, and stair risers received a complementary warm cream finish. Ultimately, this comprehensive treatment successfully modernized the entire outdoor space and ensured long-term protection against the elements.
